How it works

1. Client’s Creative brief: The client defines his creative brief on our platform to produce visual content.
2. Klaud9’s creative team: We work on the clients’ brand guidelines to create a detailed mood-board to help you shooting amazing content.
3. Invitation to Assignment: You will receive an email inviting you to shoota specific assignment. You have to “show interest” or “decline” if you don’t want to shoot the specific project. It will be sent to several content creators. You have to answer within 24 hrs. This is on a First come first base basis.
4. Acceptance of Assignment: If you have shown interest and we assign the project to you you have to “accept the assignment” confirming that you will be able to shoot within a specific time frame and budget.
5. Models & wardrobe: We help you sourcing models and wardrobe or you can use your own ones and we will pay you accordingly.
6. Shooting according to brief & deadline: You produce Amazing visual content within the given deadline and according to the mood-board. The mood-board will guide you in how to shoot/not to shoot for our brand. It contacts details on the scenarios and actions. It is essential that you shoot according to brief.
7. Uploading of content: You upload your visual content for client’s selection. You have to make sure that the model releases and property releases are uploaded too. You have to upload the content in high resolution minimum 12MB.

8. Client’s selection & feedback: Client selects the photos/videos and leaves feedback on issues or how to edit them. You have to edit the photos within 8 hrs and re-upload again. The selection of the visual content is based on:

   • Relevance to the brief – Followed the brief and image brand guidelines closely
   • Photo quality – Composition, focus, colour, resolution
   • Style – Candid photos, authentic

Payment & Rates

Payment

Once your assignment has been closed (client downloads the photos) you will be paid within 14 – 30 days.

Make sure you update your profile with your full name, address, profile photo and payment preferences. We can transfer the money or pay by paypal.

Klaud9 offers different rates depending on the projects. When you show interest and accept the assignment you are accepting all Terms & Conditions of On demand Branded Content and of that specific project within these terms set out.

How do I get paid?

We have various options. We can send payments via PayPal, cheque, or transfer.Go to your account and click on “pay-outs”.

• PayPal

  Select PayPal

  Once you select PayPal, enter the email address you registered with on your PayPal account

• Cheque

  Select Cheque only if you are resident in Singapore

  Enter your full name and mailing address

  They are sent by post, so it may take a few day for you to get them. There is a SGD$5 fee when requesting a cheque.

• Wire Transfer

  If you would like to receive a transfer please contact us on  contactus@klaud9.com  and send us your bank account details. Depending on which country you are based in there will be a transfer fee to be communicated to you.

Tracking of payment

You can go to “pay-outs” in your account and check the status. In addition we will send out an email notification from our system when the payment is being processed.

Types of Assignments

We have many types of assignments. It is essential that you indicate when you create an account which category you are specialized in and what type of assignments you are interested in.

Types

• Lifestyle: Lifestyle shots that include people. The photos have to be natural looking and less staged. You could be shooting for a brand beer eg friends having fun while having a beer.
• Events: It can be an opening of a restaurant, office, a bar or just a party.
• Product: Product briefs relate to shots taken with a product focusing on the brand. There is also the combination with people and product. Eg mother and a child eating ice-cream.
• Portrait/Travel: Focus on the portrait of a person.
• Landscape/Architecture: Taking shots of amazing landscapes or architecture for clients.
• Real estate: It can be homes, new buildings.

Copyrights & Usage

The content you produce is exclusive to the client

You grant Klaud9 and our clients the exclusive rights to use the visual content you have created. Which means that you cannot sell or use anywhere else the content you have created for us.

Any shots (including similar shots which are almost identical but with different angle or composition) you have taken during the assignment but were not selected are exclusive to Klaud9 and his client. You cannot sell to any third party.

Featuring of your work:

• Portfolio:You can use the accepted content on your Portfolio on Klaud9 for non-commercial purposes to feature your work only once the client has launched the campaign.
• Social Media:You or the model can use the accepted content on your own Social Media channels once the client has launched the campaign.

We do not want to jeopardise the client’s campaign by publishing the content prior to their usage.

Usage of visual content

All visual content will be submitted to Klaud9 and its clients with the following usage:

• Exclusive
• Worldwide
• Lifetime
• All media channels (print, website, social media, OOH, etc.)

Content & Submission Guidelines

Required Image Sizes/Dimensions

• The minimum size of the files must be 3000px on the longest side.
• JPEG
• High resolution

Required Video format

• MP4

Uploading visual content

• Submission of content is only accepted via Klaud9 upload platform

Branded Products

Some shoots require branded products. Klaud9 will coordinate with the client whether they will put them at your disposal or whether you have to buy them and claim them back.

Put product at your disposal

Make sure that we have your complete address in your account profile to be able to send you the product. If there is a delay in receiving the products we will have to delay the shoot accordingly.

Purchase of products

You might find at time that you have to purchase the product yourself cause the sending of the product takes too long. We will advise where it is available. Make sure you get the product as soon as possible in order not to delay the shoot.

When you upload your visual content to Klaud9 it is essential that you submit the model or property release forms too.

What Is A Model Release?

A model release is a written document signed by the subject of the photograph which states that he or she consents to being photographed and, more importantly, that the photograph may be used for the purpose set forth in the release. It must be submitted for any commercial content that features an individual that is recognisable.

When Is A Model Release Required?

A model release is always required for any photograph portraying any recognizable person and which is used for commercial purposes. In general, a person will be considered to be recognizable if at least one other person (other than the person depicted in the photograph) is able to recognize the person portrayed in the photograph.

What Is A "Commercial Use"?

This term refers to the use of a photograph in advertising, promotion, trade or product endorsement.

When Is A Property Release Required?

A property release must be submitted for any commercial content that is shot on private property, or is taken on public property but features distinctive private property.

Why Are Model Releases Important When You Submit Your Work?

The submission of a model release will help you to protect the photographer and the customer from any claims that may be brought by the model due to the use of the model’s shot. By obtaining a model release, the photographer is given the right to use the model’s shot under the conditions which have been laid out in the release.

What Information Does The Model Release Require?

• Photographer: It needs to contain your legal name as photographer or business company.
• Model: It needs to contain the model’s name, contact information, and signature when submitting a model release. Ask your Model to fill out the information during (or directly before or after) the shoot. Picture ID.
• Witness: The witness has to be present when the model signs the release. The model release form needs to include their name, contact information, signature, and date of signature. It should be witnessed on the same day the model signs the release. Witnesses can attest to the veracity of the shooting information as well as the signature of the model release and will help you counter any claims in the future. The information on the form should be legible.

How Do I Attach A Model Release When I Upload My Images Or Videos

Download first the model release forms here. Shoot your great content ask your model to sign it and upload it in the “upload area” when you upload your images.

Minors

Please note that model release form is combined for adults and for minors (individuals under 18 years of age). It requires the consent of a parent or guardian of the minor.

Property releases

The Importance Of Property Releases

A property release confirms that the owner or authorized representative of the particular property has given you permission to use footages or photos taken on the property for commercial use.

Legal considerations related to private property vary by jurisdiction in each country, but some considerations include claims of orders of a congress or administrative agency, trespass, proprietary rights to designs on the property, or restrictions against shooting content upon admission.

When Should I Obtain A Property Release?

Please make sure to obtain a property release form from an authorised representative of the owner of the property if you are shooting on private property which is distinctive from a public place.

What Types Of Properties May Require A Property Release?

It is your responsibility as a content creator and submitter to research any properties you shoot to determine whether a release form is necessary. Here are some property types that could require a property release:

• Building interiors
• Modern architecture
• Unique and/or custom designed vehicles, luxury boats, airplanes, etc.
• Unique animals: unique pets, certain zoo animals, race horses, etc.
• Check on certain building exteriors, even if taken from public property.
• Sometimes properties such as stadiums, museums, concert venues, amusement parks, could have certain policies in place
• Well-known landmarks and historic locations.

What Information Does The Property Release Require?

• PhotographerThis must be the legal name or the business name of the photographer.

• Owner/authorised Representative of the PropertyIt must contain the name, contact information and signature of either the owner or an authorized representative of the property.

  Please make sure that the person who signs the property release must have authorization for signature to do so. Any employee who has no authorization for signature cannot sign the form.

• WitnessThe witness has to be present when the property release form is being signed. The property release form needs to include their name, contact information, signature, and date of signature. It should be witnessed on the same day the release form is being signed. Witnesses can attest to the veracity of the shooting information as well as the signature of the model release and will help you counter any claims in the future.   Please make sure you use Klaud9 release forms to submit with your work. The release forms are currently only available in English. We will translate them in the next months in other languages too.
